A: A couple of ideas...

We would set a bed time and tell the kids they could either go to sleep, or stay up an extra 30 minutes reading.

Also, we would read as a family one night a week. Tell everyone to unplug and grab a book.

After a while, the kids go to doing it on their own.

A: Take them to the library or bookstore to pick out their own books

Often time, children don't enjoy reading because they books they are asked to read are picked out by someone else. Every child has unique interests and types of books they like to read, so it is important that they are able to pick out their own books. I recommend taking your child to the library or bookstore and letting them choose their own books. Chances are, if they picked it out themselves, they will take interest in reading it.
