Hey Ken,

I wouldn't worry about name brands here. My family has couple of these type of DVD players for the kids. They're all no-name players and my family has been super happy with them.

Here are a couple of great options from a brand named Coby. They're a "no-name" brand, but their players are some of the best selling on Amazon.
