Q: Does alcohol affect your baby during the first month of pregnancy?

I didn't know that I was pregnant and I had a fun Vegas weekend with my girlfriends and I drank pretty heavily one of the nights. Now I am freaking out that I may have hurt my baby, when I didn't even know that I was pregnant. Is that possible? Should I be worried? This has to have happened to many other women who didn't know that they were pregnant, right? Help!

A: Talk to you doctor.

Your doctor should be able to reassure you about this. I have known many people that didn't know they were pregnant and had a wild night out. In fact, that's how some of them got pregnant in the first place. Their babies were all just fine.
