Q: Can I eat cheese while pregnant?

I keep hearing that I am not supposed to eat certain types of cheeses while pregnant. Is this true?

A: Yes! Just not soft cheeses.

The answer is YES! Cheeses provide much needed calcium for you and your baby. The only cheeses to stay away from, due to bacterial problems like Listerosis, would be soft cheese like Brie, Gorgonzola, Roquefort, Camembert, Feta, and Mexican style cheeses that have queso blanco and queso fresco in them. Stick to pasteurized cheeses and you will be fine (and healthy)!
