Q: Anyone have experience with firing a nanny? Any advice?

Gosh, this is a tough one. My husband and I both work. We have a full time nanny that has been with us almost since our daughter was born (she is 14 months). We recently moved to a new area of the city and the distance / new location has created a strain in our relationship with our nanny.

Considering this recent strain, I've been talking with some friends about their child care. It's clear that the level of care and professionalism of other nannies in the area is much higher. I think it's time that we switch. It's hard, though, as it's clear that our nanny deeply cares about our daughter.

Any advice? Some thoughts from someone who has been through something like this before would be really helpful.

Thanks.
