I used a bottle right from the start as well as nursing and had no problems. I did this with both of my children because I had to supplement my breast milk with formula since I did not produce enough. My first child had no problem going back and forth. My second preferred the nipple on the bottle but as long as I used a nipple shield when breast feeding he did fine.
