Q: If your child doesn't believe that you're angry with him, is it good to demonstrate your anger?

We have an issue with our son where he doesn't think that we're really mad at him when we're trying to discipline him. As a result, he doesn't listen or behave. We have been told by others that we should let him know that we're really angry by demonstrating our anger (truly yelling at him, for instance). Is this right? Any other parents have experience or thoughts here? ...I work to keep my temper in check. I don't want my son to be scared of me.
