I have heard children recently tell one or more of their parents, "You're doing it wrong," "You're lying," and "Shut your mouth." This is absurd. What is wrong with kids these days? I really feel like children used to have more respect for adults in general and their parents in particular. When my father explained how to do something, that was the right way to do it. We never would have thought to tell my father "Shut your mouth." And, this wasn't because he was a harsh disciplinarian. He just had our respect and love. He and my mom were the authorities in our lives. Is the problem that parents want to be friends with their children today? What is wrong with children and their respect for adults today?
